esign a lesson plan  for primary children with two levels of ICT using SAMR model integration.

Lesson No:1

Topic: Domestic animal
Class: II
Time: 45 minutes
Teaching learning materials: Images, video of domestic animals with sounds they make, mentimeter, paint.
ICT model: SAMR model
Previous knowledge: Students are already familiar with the animals that live near their house/ surroundings like dogs, cats among others.

Lesson objectives:

At the end of the lesson, student will be able to;

           -identify at least two  domestic animals correctly after the activity.
          -state the importance of domestic animals precisely after the discussion.
          - draw at least one domestic animal properly after the activity.

Lesson introduction( 5minutes)
-I will gain the attention of students by clapping hands twice. After gaining their attention, I will ask them to think about their favorite animal or a pet for 2 minutes and then will give the opportunity for a few of them to share it with the class. After their sharing, I will tell them that we will learn about domestic animals in this lesson.




Lesson development(35 minutes)

  -information input
I will explain the term  ‘domestic animal’ to students before introducing them to different domestic animals. I will introduce domestic animals to students using images downloaded from google.



 After introducing them to the animals, I will use a video from youtube to teach them the sounds above mentioned animals make.

-Activity 1
In this activity, I will let students draw their favorite domestic animal using paint and to color it. I will provide them five minutes to draw and paint and will organize a gallery walk where I will give them the opportunity to go around and see the drawing of other friends in the class.
                      

  - Activity 2
After the first activity, I will group students into six groups having four to five members in it.  I will instruct them to discuss the importance of domestic animals in the group for five to six minutes. After the group discussion, I will give the opportunity for each group to present their ideas and discussion to the class.
                        - follow up activities

                                                       I will elaborate more on their points and ideas and will provide feedback which can correct their mistakes and learn from it.

Lesson closure: I will use a mentimeter in the class to flash questions on the screen and will have students to answer questions. I will put questions to conclude the lesson on mentimeter.
