Middle level of ICT integration
The term PhET simulation was something I had no idea on it. In this class, we were introduced to PhET simulation and how to incorporate it in teaching and learning process. PhET simulation is free, interactive, research based science and mathematics simulations. I think it is very effective tool that we can use to teach concepts and process to our students virtually. It is going to be very useful and effective incase of lack/ scarcity of resources and it can even ensure both student and teacher's safety. It can even ensure whole class engagement and can help students to practice it in real world without any fear, confusion or risk. We can use PhET simulations to introduce concepts in a middle level ICT integration. In a middle level ICT integration, instructions, series of activities, follow up activities and assessment are included. The topic is introduced following the above mentioned list.

Previous Knowledge: Students will already have some ideas on how things increases while adding.
Lesson objectives:
By the end of the lesson, student will be able to;
- add two digit number correctly after the class activity.
- define addition correctly after the teachers explanation.
- state at least one importance of addition in our day to day life after the activity.
Lesson introduction
I will clap hands for twice to grab the attention of my students. I will use the things around the classroom like pen and pencil to ask students to give numbers to it. I will show one pen at first and let them tell the number of pen in my hands. After that I will add another pen on my hand and ask them to tell the number of pen. I will show up to four pens and then let them guess the topic that we are going to learn in this class. After their guesses, I will introduce them the topic that is addition.
Lesson Development
To introduce them with the concept of addition, I will use PhET simulation on addition. Before using it, I will explain them about the concept of addition. After the explanation, I will use the PhET simulation to further explain the concept of what is addition and how can we add the things. In the PhET simulation, it helps students to add the things that they are familiar with such as fruits and vegetables. I will display it on the screen and help them with the explanation on what is addition using the PhET simulation.
Activity One
After they are introduced with the concept, I will assign an individual task for the students that is to add the blocks. I will provide them with the question on a worksheet and the numbers that I want the students to add. For this activity, The students will use blocks to add. I will provide 5-7 minutes for the students to complete the work. While they are doing the activity, I will move around the class and help them with solution if they have any problems.
Follow up activities
After they are done with the activity, I will provide few minutes for the students to share or write their answers on the board. I will pick three to four volunteers and let them write it on the board to check their understanding.
Activity Two
I will show them video on importance of addition in our day to day life with definition and few explanations in it. After watching the video, I will divide students into 5 groups with 3-4 members in it. I will let them discuss the importance of addition in our day to day life. For this activity, I will provide 4 minutes to discuss and two minutes to share it to the class.
Lesson Closure
I will end the lesson by assigning home task form the worksheet that is to addition of fruits with vegetables. To check their takeaway and learning, I will have few volunteers to recapitulate the lesson for the day.
